先の日曜日の薬師寺の見学の前に昼食に偶然立ち寄ったのが、近くのにあった萱葺き屋根のお店でした。田舎料理「草ノ戸」といい当地の民家の形式で入母屋造りの大和棟を利用しています。ちょうど３０年ぶりに屋根の萱葺き替えの後で、写真のように整った屋根になっていました。落ち着いた雰囲気の店内で薬草料理と田舎料理が提供されています。 「草ノ戸」（くさのえ）とは萱で葺いた民家のことを言います。 I dropped in at lunch before a visit to Yakushi-ji Temple of the other day accidentally. The restaurant was a shop of the roofs of thatch. The house did the thatched substitute of the roof after an interval of 30 years.
1.萱で葺いた民家を「草ノ戸」と言います。以前実際に 住まれていた
民家を移築し、居間をお食事処、お勝手を調 理室として改装されました。
トイレ洗面所は増築されたの でしょう。最新式で綺麗な設備でした。
This building removed and rebuilt an old private house.
The restaurant made a living room the meal place and redecorated
the state of things as a cookhouse. The restroom washroom was
enlarged. It was latest, clean facilities.
2.注文した料理は風量弁当「けんずい」といい提灯をか たどった、
本塗りの重ね器に、豊かな香りを盛り込んだ風 流なお弁当でした。
お昼から満腹状態です。
The dish which I ordered was in the container of the final painting that
modelled a lantern. I became full enough.
3.座敷、皇族の方もここでお食事をされた写真が飾って ありました。
We take off shoes in a room and sit down here.
As for the Japanese famous royalty, it was eaten here,
4.天井も趣がありました。
The ceiling was tasteful, too.
6.テーブル席、和紙の傘の木型を利用した間接照明が面 白い
It is the room of the seat at a table.
Indirect lighting using the stand made
of the wood of umbrella of the
Japanese paper is interesting.
6.のれんをくぐると水車が出迎えてくれます。
A waterwheel meets it when I enter.
7.入り口
「入母屋造り」の萱葺き屋根の上には、「堅魚木（かつお ぎ）」
や「烏（からす）おとし」の竿を乗せ写真では見え ませんが片方の
落屋根に「煙出し」を持つ大和棟の形式を 留めています。
It is an entrance. A noren made of the cloth hangs over the gate.
