2000年に社員旅行でバリ島に行った時のものです。 学名Podocarpus imbricatus、商業名はビーチタング、ジャワマキと呼ばれているものです。

高さ60m、幹直径2m、インドネシアの高度1400-1750mの地帯で分布しています。この植物園の周辺に非常に多くあるのは、植物園の設計の時にあえてそうしたのでした。　木材は褐色を帯びた灰色あるいは淡黄色です。　またいろいろな目的のために利用されます。たとえばレジンは胃痛の抑制に使われます。実は9月から12月の間の熟し、多肉果は赤紫でいろいろな鳥の好物です　樹齢は150年以上と思われます。
